Black and White Marble Round Vessel Sink 20 Inch

A 20 inch round marble bowl, in black or white

This round vessel sink is carved by hand from marble quarried in Turkey, and it comes in two stones: Toros Black, a deep black marble with white veining, or Carrara White, a white marble with darker veining. Either way, the veining is the stone's own, so no two bowls ever match. The sink measures 20 inches at its larger diameter and 16 inches at its smaller diameter, stands 6 inches high, and has walls 2 to 3 cm thick.

Polished veining, shifting with the light

The bowl is polished inside and out. The gloss lets light play across the veining and the depth of the stone, so the pattern seems to shift a little through the day. On the Toros Black version the white lines stand out sharply against the dark ground; on the Carrara White version the effect is lighter and quieter. The edges are curved, with no tight corners for grime to settle in. Moderate variation in veining and tone from one bowl to the next is normal for both marbles.

Bathroom vanity or kitchen counter

The black version brings strong contrast to a white or wood vanity; the white version suits a light, classic bathroom. The sink is also suited to kitchen use. The 4 cm drain opening takes standard plumbing.

On the counter or dropped in

The bowl can sit on top of the counter as a vessel or be dropped into a cutout. As a vessel, it needs a flat, level surface with one drain hole and is set in silicone. As a drop-in, the counter opening is cut to fit the sink, so plan the cutout with the sink on hand. In both cases, choose the faucet early, mounted on the counter or the wall and long enough to reach over the rim.

Care

Both Toros Black and Carrara White are calcite marbles, so they are porous and acids can etch the polished surface. The stone is sealed to resist moisture, and resealing frequency depends on how much the sink is used, often once or twice a year.
