Calacatta Viola Marble Rectangular Console - Polished 12x40x30

Calacatta Viola rectangular marble console

This rectangular console is handcrafted from Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey, with a polished finish. Its purple, gray and gold veining makes it a focal point the moment someone walks into the entry, and since every block is different, no two consoles are identical. It measures 40 inches long, 12 inches wide and 30 inches high.

Clean lines, bold veining

The form is a simple rectangle with clean lines and no ornament, so the stone carries the design. Polishing brings out depth and shine in the veining, and the surface shifts as light moves across the grain. Natural marble also develops a patina with time. Expect the veining, tone and pattern on each console to differ from the next.

• Rectangular form Clean, straight lines that let the marble speak.
• Polished veining Purple, gray and gold tones brought forward by the polish.

Narrow enough for a hallway

With a 12 inch depth and a 40 inch length, the proportions fit behind a sofa, against an accent wall in a foyer or along a hallway. The straight form sits well in minimalist contemporary rooms and in transitional homes with layered textures. Style it with sculptural vases, trailing greenery or bold art hung above. The purple and gold in the stone draw out warm metals and jewel tones, so a brass lamp works well here. Or leave the top bare and let the marble stand on its own.

• Size 40" L × 12" W × 30" H, polished Calacatta Viola.
• Shape Rectangular, with a slim 12 inch depth.

Crated and heavy

The console ships securely wrapped in a protective wooden crate. Solid marble is heavy, so two or more people should unpack and place it. Set it on a level floor, with felt pads or a rug to protect the surface underneath.

Care

Calacatta Viola is a calcite marble with a polished face. It is porous, so acidic products can etch it and spills left to sit can mark it. Periodic sealing protects against everyday marks, and how often depends on use.
