This rectangular sink is handcrafted from a single block of Verde Antico marble quarried in Turkey. The stone has rich green tones crossed by white veins that vary in thickness and distribution, along with lighter and darker green areas, which gives the surface depth and movement. Every piece is unique, and no two sinks share the same veining or color distribution. It measures 13 inches wide, 25 inches long and 6 inches high, and it can be hung on the wall or set on top of a vanity.

Verde Antico has been valued for its color since ancient times. The deep green background is marked with white spots and veins, along with light green and darker shades, so the pattern changes across the face of the sink. The polished finish brings that pattern forward and gives the green a soft shine. The form is a clean rectangle, which suits a modern bathroom and lets the stone, not the shape, carry the design. Because this is natural stone carved from a single block, variation in color, pattern and veining is part of the piece, and moderate variation between sinks is normal.

Plan the wall or the counter

Solid marble is heavy. For a wall installation, the wall needs blocking between the studs at the chosen height, added while the wall is open, and the sink is hung on brackets fixed into that backing. A wall-mounted faucet suits this layout, with the supply lines run to match before the wall is closed. On a vanity, the top must be flat, level and strong, a drain hole is cut to line up with the sink, and it is set in silicone; the faucet must then reach over the 6 inch rim. A professional installer is recommended.

Care

Verde Antico is a marble, and like all marble it is porous, so acidic or abrasive products can dull the polish. Sealing helps the stone resist water absorption and staining, and how often it is resealed depends on use, typically once or twice a year.
