Handcrafted Calacatta Viola Marble Double Wall Sink 53 Inch

A double sink in Calacatta Viola

This 53 inch double sink is hand-carved from Calacatta Viola marble quarried in Turkey, with two basins in one long piece of stone. It is made for a shared bathroom, where two people can brush their teeth, wash and get ready at the same time. The creamy white ground carries gray veining that changes from piece to piece, so each sink is unrepeatable. At 53 inches long, 19 inches wide and 6 inches high, it suits a primary bath, an ensuite or a generously sized powder room.

Two basins, polished all over

The two basins are set side by side in a single rectangular block, each with enough depth to keep splashing in check. The finish is polished on the interior and exterior. That mirror-like surface spreads natural light across the stone and gives the bathroom a bright, airy feel, and it resists daily wear and staining better than a matte face. Moderate variation in the tone and veining of the marble is normal, and no two sinks will look exactly alike.

• Twin basins Two separate bowls in one piece of stone, so two people can use it at once.
• Polished finish A reflective surface inside and out that brightens the room and cleans easily.

A calmer morning routine

Shared bathrooms often turn the morning routine into a queue. With a basin for each person, grooming essentials stay organized on each side and two routines can run in parallel. The 53 inch length fits a wide wall in a primary bath or ensuite. The sink can be mounted to the wall for a floating look, or set on a custom vanity or countertop for storage underneath. A matching stone drain cap is included, so there is no need to source a separate cover to match the marble.

• Size 53" L × 19" W × 6" H, two basins in one piece.
• Included A matching marble drain cap.

Plan for length and weight

A 53 inch piece of solid marble is heavy. On the wall, it needs blocking between the studs along its full length and brackets rated for stone. On a countertop or vanity, the top must be flat, level and strong enough to carry it, and the sink is set in silicone. Decide early whether the faucets go on the wall or on the counter, so the supply lines and drains can be run to match both basins. A professional installer is recommended for lifting and leveling a piece this size.

Why we chose it

• Two basins, one stone Both bowls are carved from a single block of Calacatta Viola, with no joints between them.
• Built for sharing Separate basins give two people their own space at the same time.
• Made to order Each sink is made to order, with custom sizes and finishes on request.

Made to order

This sink is made to order on two schedules: the 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. Both are the same polished double sink in the same size. The size and finish can also be tailored to a specific bathroom layout. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the wall or vanity.

Care

Calacatta Viola is a porous calcite marble, so acidic contact can etch the polished surface, and over time minor etching becomes part of the stone's patina. Resealing preserves its water resistance, and how often depends on use, typically about once a year.
