Round Gold Honed Travertine Vessel Sink 16 Inch Natural Bath

Round Gold Honed Travertine Vessel Sink 16 Inch Natural Bath

Golden Sienna travertine, carved into a round bowl

This round sink is carved by hand from a single solid block of Golden Sienna travertine quarried in Turkey. The color sits between warm and neutral, a soft gold with natural veining that changes from one piece to the next. The bowl is not molded or pressed. It is cut and shaped by hand, so each sink carries its own pattern and its own variations in color. At 16 inches in diameter and 6 inches high, it suits contemporary bathrooms as easily as rustic, spa-style or nature-inspired ones, and its warm tone works well with wood, plaster and natural textiles.

A honed, filled finish

The surface is honed and filled. Honing gives the stone a smooth, matte face that shows its full character without a glossy reflection, and a matte surface hides water spots and fingerprints better than a shiny one. Filling matters on travertine in particular. In its raw state the stone has small natural pits and holes, and those give liquids an easy path into the material. On this sink the pits are filled before it ships, so the surface is closed and more even. The edges are curved, which keeps water from pooling along the rim and leaves no tight corners to clean. Moderate color variation between sinks is normal for Golden Sienna, and over the years the stone develops a soft patina that adds to its character.

  • Honed and filled A smooth matte face, with the natural pits of the travertine filled before it ships.
  • Curved edges A rounded rim with no corners where water can sit.

Bath or kitchen, on the counter

The listing covers both bathroom and kitchen use. In a bathroom the 16 inch bowl gives enough depth for washing hands and face, rinsing hair or soaking delicate items, yet it stays compact enough for a powder room or guest bath where counter space is short. In a kitchen it works as a small prep or bar sink. The sink is installed on the countertop or as a drop-in, so the rim rests on the counter and there is no undermount work to plan. The 4 cm drain hole takes standard drain fittings. The warm gold sits naturally with brass, bronze and matte black fixtures, and against a darker vanity it brings light into the room.

  • Size 16" diameter × 6" H, solid Golden Sienna travertine.
  • Drain 4 cm drain hole for standard fittings.

Plan the counter and faucet

Solid travertine is heavy, so the counter must be flat, level and strong enough to carry it. For a countertop installation, a drain hole is cut to line up with the 4 cm drain and the bowl is set in silicone. As a drop-in, the counter is cut to fit the sink so the rim rests on it. Because the bowl rises above the counter, the faucet must reach over the rim: a tall deck-mounted vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Choose the faucet and its position before the counter is cut. A professional installer is recommended for the weight and for a clean drain connection.

Why we chose it

  • Carved from one block Each bowl is shaped by hand from solid travertine, with no joints or seams.
  • Handles heat and daily use Travertine resists heat and scratches and, with care, lasts for decades.

Quick to ship, custom on request

This Golden Sienna bowl ships within 3 to 5 business days in its standard 16 by 6 inch size with a honed and filled finish. When a project needs a different diameter, height or finish, the sink can be carved to order from the same stone. To start a custom order, contact us with the measurements of the counter and how the sink will be installed.

Care

Travertine is a porous calcite stone, so acids such as vinegar or citrus can etch it, even with the pits filled. Sealing slows absorption without making the stone immune to stains, and how often it is resealed depends on use, commonly about once a year in a bathroom.
